Hello! My name is Álvaro Ortega, and I'm an architect, having graduated from ETSAM (UPM). I understand architecture as an open discipline, capable of engaging with different fields of knowledge and responding to the cultural, social, and spatial complexities of its context. My approach to projects begins with a critical analysis of the site, the program, and the surrounding dynamics, aiming to develop proposals that combine conceptual clarity, spatial sensitivity, and technical rigor.
My working method draws on references from diverse artistic disciplines beyond architecture, such as painting, film, and literature. These influences broaden my approach to projects and allow me to explore architecture not only as a physical construction but also as a cultural medium capable of generating narratives, atmospheres, and experiences.
At the same time, I maintain a strong interest in architectural theory and critical thinking within the discipline. Research, reading, and the analysis of references are essential parts of my design process, understanding theory as a tool that allows me to question, substantiate, and enrich design decisions.
Throughout my projects, I strive to develop an architecture that combines conceptual reflection with the capacity for materialization, paying particular attention to the relationship between space, user, and context. I am interested in working in collaborative environments where the exchange of ideas and experimentation are integral to the creative process, contributing to projects that add cultural, urban, and social value.
